Fayth onely justifieth before God. Robert Barnes, DD The Supplication, fourth essay. London: Daye, 1572.

Lord if Thou straightly mark our iniquity, who is able to abide Thy judgement? Wherefore I trust in no work that I ever did, but only in the death of Jesus Christ. I do not doubt, but through Him to inherit the kingdom of heaven. Robert Barnes, DD, before he was burnt alive for "heresy", 30 July 1540.

What is Luther? The doctrine is not mine, nor have I been crucified for anyone. Martin Luther, Dr. theol. (1522)

Prayers And Some Gospel For Laetare Week Devotion.

The Introit for Laetare:

Rejoice, O Jerusalem, and come to-gether all you who love her: rejoice with joy, you who have been in sorrow: that you may exult, and be filled from the breasts of your consolation. (From Isaiah 66:10,11)

Verse Response: I rejoiced at the things that were said to me. We shall go into the house of the Lord. (From Psalm 122:1)

Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

The Collect for Laetare:

Grant, we beseech Thee, almighty God, that we, who for our evil deeds do worthily deserve to be punished, by the comfort of Thy grace may mercifully be relieved. Through Jesus Christ, Thy Son, Our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with the Father and the Holy Ghost, ever one God, world without end.

Case dismissed, case dismissed, saved by grace! Somebody say Amen!

The video offers an 18 minute segment starting with a performance of the O'Neal Twins' classic, Jesus Dropped The Charges; then offers other segments which you might enjoy too.
