Apologia pro vita sua 2013.

As soon as I quit retching from appropriating something from the ridiculous buffoon John Henry Cardinal Newman, I'll explain what in all revisionist Judas I mean.

OK.  The first two posts on Past Elder for 2013 are late, but here they are.  Life apart from blogging has been unusually demanding lately and I just didn't get them posted.  But, there's a lot of interesting stuff relating to the whole business of what is new years, including that a lot of why our calendar is as it is now comes from regarding life beginning at conception, and what is the right time to celebrate the feast of the resurrection of Christ.  Two things that our world denies for the former and could not care less for the latter, so maybe it behooves us to know this stuff.  And Loehe -- man, that guy was fabulous, and you know what, he stood for what we stand for against exactly the same pressures we encounter now, which far from being just a pious figure to thank God for in the past is a model for action right bloody now.  And part of his legacy is our beloved synod, of which Walther himself said he is really the "father".

So here are these two posts, a few days late but I hope (which is not the same thing as "hopefully") not a dollar short, so zu sagen.
